About Us
OUR FIRST PATIENT
Home I.V. Care and Nutritional Service was founded in 1984 by Benn H Legum RPh, a local pharmacist, to provide parenteral nutrition to the five year old son of a family friend. Bryan Tims suffered serious injuries due to a faulty drain in a children’s swimming pool. The injuries Bryan suffered left him completely dependent on parenteral nutrition for life. Home I.V. Care and Nutritional Service continues to provide Bryan, now 31 years old, with his parenteral nutrition. Benn remains active today in the infusion pharmacy that he started to help a friend 27 years ago.
HISTORY
As the oldest home infusion therapy provider in Virginia, Home I.V. Care and Nutritional Service now services patients throughout Virginia and the bordering states. Today, we provide infusion therapy for over 200 different diagnoses in the home setting, allowing for a safer, more comfortable, and less costly alternative to hospitalization. Our professional staff and team of specialists combine experience and knowledge to effectively manage infusion therapy patients in their homes, delivering exceptional, individualized service to each patient.Our strict discipline and diligent devotion to quality have gained us recognition through accreditation by The Joint Commission, withstanding the intense scrutiny of the highest standards of care.
